Colline du Chateau

Rising about 93 metres between Nice's Old Town and the port, Colline du Chateau (Castle Hill) is a landscaped park built over the ruins of the medieval castle that gave the city its historic core, demolished in 1706. Paths climb through pine trees and archaeological remains, or visitors can take a lift, to a terraced lookout over the red rooftops of Vieux Nice, the curve of the Baie des Anges and the Promenade des Anglais. A cascading artificial waterfall sits near the main viewpoint.
